Tomorrow, Austin City Council will consider adopting the report of the Mayor’s Task Force on Institutional Racism and Systemic Inequities which is co-chaired by AISD Superintendent Paul Cruz and Huston-Tillotson University President Colete Pierce Burnette. The Task Force provided a briefing of their report to the Austin City Council yesterday in a Council Work Session.

The report makes recommendations for improving equity in our community across five issues:

• education
• real estate and housing
• health
• finance, banking and industry
• civil and criminal justice
